Columbus Day Fun!!!!

Apparently, Columbus Day is a federal holiday so we got to spend time together as a family. So we decided to go to Thanksgiving point and have some fun at Farm Land and the Musuem of Ancient Life. Overall it was a great day and the whole family had a great time. I think Avery was more excited about wearing her boots that she got from Khiya to a "real farm" more than anything else. Enjoy the photos!!!

Avery being a Paleontologist

They have a cool water and sand play area. This is Avery's favorite part

David just likes to stand

Avery isn't a fan of dark places, hence the worried look

Avery felt she was a real cowgirl with her boots. Shout out to Khiya

More videos

These are some of her latest performances.  In the first one it was evening so she was a bit fussy but it shows her doing her "downward dog" move.

In this one you can just see her little teeth poking through.

I love having a phone that will let me take and download videos!

Christmas

We were in Vegas for Christmas this year.  We really enjoyed it.  It was nice and chilly so it got us in the Christmas mood.  Avery learned a lot of new tricks while we were there such as scooting and screaming.  luckily she isn't screaming much any more and she has gotten better at scooting.  As anticipated she loved the wrapping on the presents, the ribbons especially.
She got some fluffy pink pajamas a sippy cup and some cute outfits from Grandma and Grandpa Wyatt.

Santa brought her a stuffed horse that we have since dubbed "Ginger".

Her cousin Kelsey had a cool fedora hat that Avery just loved.  She even liked wearing it.

I'm glad we didn't spend a ton on presents this year because she really just wanted to eat the ribbons.

While we were there we also juiced some pomegranates, went "brass picking" and shotgun shooting.  Also, Mom Wyatt and I dipped chocolates.  It was a very fun trip and good to be with family.  Sorry it took me so long to post.

Gingerbread Village

I feel like I have been out of touch with the world since Christmas.  Things were pretty busy for a while and Avery's schedule was really messed up by the time change.  It is nice to finally be getting back to some semblance of regularity.

Just before we left for Vegas, we had a Christmas party at our house for the optometry students in our ward.  We made a gingerbread village.    It was our first time making gingerbread houses, even though we want to every year.  It was a lot of fun, so hopefully it won't be our last time.
We had baked all the pieces of the house so people just had to put them together and add decorations.  There are some pretty creative people in the optometry program!

Family Pictures

Around the beginning of December we had our friend take some family pictures for us.  I am really happy with how they turned out.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Little Crawfish

Avery is growing so fast I can hardly believe it.  She is getting really good at sitting on her own.  She has also mastered the skill of rolling from her back to her stomach.  Unfortunately she has not figured out how to get back over.  This is the source of much frustration for her.  I don't think she means to roll over most of the time, she just can't help herself, and then she's stuck.  Oh, well she usually makes the best of the situation.  She is really good at turning in a circle with her little pot belly as the pivot.  She tries to use her hands to get somewhere but she pushes back and gets farther away from what she was going for.  Here in the south they call that "crawfish-ing".  Anyway, I try not to laugh too hard at her frustrations.  She'll have it figured out in no time, then what will I do?  Baby-proof the apartment, that's what.

She is also very vocal.  She likes to talk and "sing".  My favorite part of this video is her face at the very end.  Like she isn't sure if she said to much.  I know that feeling.

She is already sitting up pretty well too.  It is fun, but I have to watch her or she will tip over.
